 Aadi kool is one of the famous chettinad dishes which finds its place in most of the chettiar festive occasions. Its not only tasty, but also very healthy. With lots of ghee and jaggery, its a sure favorite  for all sweet lovers :)

It is said to be very healthy due to the high protein content in the urad dhall used for making the aadi kool mavu.This dish is prepared and given to adolescent girls for strengthening them and also for women who have just delivered in order to regain their stamina back after delivery.
 

 

Ingredients

 

  • Aadi kool mavu - 1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 1/4 cup
  • Water - 3 to  3 ½ cups

Method

  1. Mix the jaggery with the water in a pan and bring to boil.
  2. In a kadai, add ghee and mix in the flour till it becomes a paste like consistency.If required add more ghee.
  3. Keep stirring the paste. In a few mins, the paste will become aromatic and frothy.
4.Now add the jaggery and water mix to this paste.
5.Keep stirring till the mixture does'nt stick to the kadai.
Aadi kool is ready to serve :)
